The wires and cables can be identified from the following aspects
1) Copper: High-quality cables use high-purity oxygen-free copper, the copper core is bright in color, and the surface of poor copper wires is darker.
2) Plastic: The plastic uses high-quality virgin plastic, which has good bending performance, and the bending of the cable will not produce texture. The poor recycled plastic will have obvious texture after several bendings, and break after many bendings.
3) Full side: Copper is a kind of precious metal. If you lose a little in the copper diameter, you can reduce a lot of raw material costs. In this case, you need to use a micrometer to measure the diameter of the copper wire. If you don't have a micrometer, the easier way is to weigh the entire roll of wire to see if it is much lighter than a high-quality cable. Or you can refer to the nominal weight given by the factory. The nominal weight given by some factories is too low, so naturally the product quality cannot be guaranteed.
4) Full meters: It may be more difficult to detect when you use your hands and feet on the number of meters, because customers generally don't have equipment to actually measure the number of meters, and you can know whether the cable is full meters by using the same weight measurement method. It is also a good way to have the rice mark printed on the factory, but it should be noted that there is no way to print the rice mark on a wire with a diameter of less than 5mm.
5) Accessories: In order to ensure the roundness of the cable, fillers will be added to the core of the multi-core cable, and the thickness of the sheath will be thicker. If the cable is not round, it means that the filler is added. Very few, and the sheath is made thin.
6) Bundle wire: Multi-strand copper wire will be bundled during production to improve the tensile performance, roundness, electrical performance and closeness of the copper core to the insulating layer, but the bundle wire will increase the amount of copper used Therefore, many factories omit this step. The way to distinguish is to cut the core wire of the cable to see if the copper wires inside are regularly twisted together.
6) Braiding: For cables with a copper mesh braid, the braid accounts for a large part of the cost of the cable's raw materials, and the coverage of the braid directly affects the electrical performance of the cable. At the same time, the tight braid can increase the strength of the cable. Reduce the electrical performance degradation of the cable in the bending state. Therefore, it is important to see whether the braided layer has a high coverage rate and a uniform and fine weave, which is an important means to distinguish between good and bad cables.
7) Foaming: Some cables need to foam the insulating layer to enhance their electrical properties. The foaming mainly includes chemical foaming and physical foaming. Chemistry does not require special production equipment, so the price is low, but the bubbles produced vary in size , Poor electrical performance. Physical foaming requires expensive production equipment, but the bubbles produced are uniform and dense, with low attenuation in the bent state, and good electrical properties. The core wire of such a cable can be cut open to observe whether the foam layer is uniform and dense.
2. The importance of the foot formula:
The cost of cable raw materials is very high, coupled with excessive competition in the domestic market, leading many manufacturers to use the cable raw materials, but this may lead to very serious consequences.
1) For cables that transmit power, if the copper wire is made thin, the conductor resistance will increase, heat will be generated, heat will be generated, and a fire may even be caused.
2) The use of poor cable materials in the insulation layer will result in poor heat resistance and premature aging. If it is a flexible cord, it will also cause multiple bending and rupture, resulting in a risk of electric shock.
3) If the sheath layer is too thin, the durability will decrease. It should be noted that cables must be used for more than 10 years.
4) Cutting corners in other processes will cause a serious decrease in the transmission bandwidth and distance of the signal line.
